The four most common questions about the research tools.
How do I start with an example?
Open a calculator and choose Load example. It fills in public example data, not a real security, and replaces anything you have typed. Then choose the calculate button (Calculate maximum drawdown or Calculate CAGR) to see the result and each step.
Why is my input rejected?
Each calculator explains the problem next to the field. Enter plain numbers, for example 100 or 2.5; scientific notation such as 1e3 also works. Do not add currency symbols or percent signs. The maximum drawdown calculator needs 2 to 1,000 values, each greater than 0. In the CAGR calculator, the starting value and the number of years must be greater than 0, and the ending value cannot be negative; enter 0 for a total loss.
Are the values I enter uploaded?
No. The calculators work in your browser. The values you enter are not sent to us, not stored by the website and not added to the page address. The privacy policy has the details.
When can I use the Research Workbench?
No date has been announced. The Research Workbench page shows its current status; until availability is confirmed, the status is shown as unknown and there is no entry point.
